Gesher Response to the Attack On the "Run for Their Lives" Community

Updated: Jun 26

Below is a auto-transcription of the video message above.
Hi Gesher Campus Care community friends and allies.
I wanted to share a few thoughts from Shelly and I about this afternoon's terror attack in Boulder.
On the heels of the murders of Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky last week in DC there was another attack on the Run for Their Lives community, a grassroots movement where people have a weekly run / walk to raise awareness for the 58 hostages still in Gaza.
Run for Their Lives are not protesters. They are not political. They are raising awareness about American, Thai, Israeli and Nepalese hostages that are still being held by Hamas. Some alive others not.
No matter where you stand on the conflict, these people don't deserve to be forgotten, ignored or have their plight justified. You don't need to be Jewish to care. You just need to be human.
As a member of the Jewish community you may feel scared now or have an instinct to hide. This is not unreasonable but we don't need to hide. Be safe, but don't hide. Wear your magenda. Wear your Kai necklace. Wear your Bring Them Home Now shirts. Walk in solidarity with your communities. Hold your heads high. We are strong and we are resilient.
Shelley and I and the whole Gesher Campus Care therapy team are here to support you as we navigate these uncertain and challenging times for our people.
Please reach out if you need us even if you're not a member of the campus community.

Sending you all a big hug from Gesher Campus Care.
